01
Context
Indoor environments tend to communicate through sight: printed signs, colour codes, maps on walls. For people who navigate without relying on vision, most of that information is simply absent.
TacSign explores whether tactile geometry — shapes that can be read by touch — could act as a small, consistent language for identifying facilities and finding the way inside buildings.
02
The central question
Can a shape carry meaning to the hand the way a symbol carries meaning to the eye?
